The Scholars Program is designed to help social work students gain exposure to research by actively participating in salient studies conducted by professors who are experts in their respective fields. She is a returning student, having graduated in 1999 with a B.A. from the University of Mary Washington in Fredericksburg, Virginia with a double major in Spanish Language and Literature and International Affairs. Jenny has a professional background in criminal justice and teaching, having spent time both working in the courts as an interpreter as well as a year and a half living in Madrid, Spain teaching English to adult learners. She is excited about the many opportunities available in the social work profession and is passionate about empowering others like undocumented immigrants, offenders and children, although she is open to collaborating with individuals from any group.
